Construction Taxes Increase on July 1, 2019
Pay your building permit invoice before July 1 to avoid reassessment of taxes

Due to increased rates on the Construction Valuation Table that become effective July 1, 2019, any unpaid building permit invoice received before July 1, 2019 will be reassessed with higher construction taxes. Please refer to pages 25-26 of the Building and Structure Permits Fee Schedule - Effective July 1, 2019 for details. To get an updated invoice after the new rates take effect, please visit the Assistance Desk at the Development Service Permit Center.

The Building Division oversees private construction to ensure safe buildings and to facilitate the City's economic development objectives. We accomplish this by ensuring compliance with building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, zoning, engineering, energy, and accessibility codes and laws.

Our bulletin How to Get a Building Permit provides an overview of the steps to getting a permit and helps you select the right service for your project. Visit our Permit Center web page for an overview of all permit services and hours of service.
