Opening of Trail Connection at Coleman Road Under-Crossing Completes a Walking Loop at Almaden Lake

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services (PRNS) San José Trails program and Almaden Lake Park opened a new trail under-crossing on Coleman Road on Dec. 2. Councilmember Johnny Khamis, community leaders and 70 community members attended the ribbon cutting ceremony. The 600’ project includes an asphalt-paved trail, retaining wall structures, signage and striping. The project completes a walking loop at Lake Almaden, improves access from the park to the Almaden Light Rail Station, and guides trail users to the nearby Guadalupe River and Guadalupe Creek trails. The project was funded by the City’s Park Trust Fund and grants from the Santa Clara Valley Water District. The Department of Public Works implemented design and construction of the project. For more information, contact Nicolle Burnham, PRNS Deputy Director, at 408-793-5514
