  2. Viva CalleSJ "SoFA to the Street" and Inaugural 5K

    September 23, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

For a fourth year, you’re free to bike, skate, walk, and play on the streets during Viva CalleSJ, a program proudly led by San José's Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services. Viva CalleSJ 2018 SoFA to the Street transforms six miles of open streets — First Street down Monterey Road to Martial Cottle Park — into the City’s largest urban park for the day. Enjoy three hubs full of activities, resources, and Pokémon GO as you make your way along the route. The event promotes social connectivity and health and wellness, while directly reducing carbon emissions. This year, you can also participate in the inaugural Run Viva CalleSJ 5K and kid’s fun run. Viva CalleSJ is made possible by collaborative efforts from PRNS, Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition, Santa Clara County and Knight Foundation. Visit for event and 5K run information.
